PROGRAM:

• Demonstration and Blockades:
  at the moment, approximately 200 calls for support are being sent to various organisations. They include content-centred issues about Bologna, our protests and the call for advertising, joining the demonstration, as well as supporting to finance our structures.
  The Grand Demonstration will start on March 11th, 3:00pm, at Westbahnhof Railway Station. After a comparatively short march, it will reach its end in a manifestation with final speeches on a lorry-based stage. The demonstration will be dissolved there around 18:00. The demonstration's theme will be "United against Cutbacks in education and welfare. Our future in our hands!". This reflects the broad social context, in which education cuts and the bologna reforms are embedded.
  During the evening time, there will be the possibility to join blockade actions. We will show the protagonists of cuts in public education, what it means to be confronted with "access barriers". This means that we will peacefully! jam the streets, to restrict the official summit visitors' freedom of movement as much as possible. At the moment, a consensus about actions is about to be worked out and will be presented and discussed next week.

• Alternative Summit:
  Is going to take place on the Campus of the University of Vienna ("Altes AKH"). On Friday (day 1) there will be introductory crash courses (about the issues of education politics and Bologna), a "Café Transnational" and an opening panel discussion.
  On Saturday (Main Day), all day long there will be workshops about the topics of gender and education, teaching and research in crisis, international education protests, education and social injustice, democracy and education and society, as well as neoliberalisation of education politics. Parallelly, there will be the possibility to exchange views on any topic and conduct networking in the Café Transnational. The final plenary session intends to discuss possible alternatives to education politics of the bologna era, as well as perspectives for the future.
  On the final day (Sunday, March 14th), there will be alternative city tours and once more the "Café Transnational".

INFRASTRUCTURE:

• At the moment, we are about to organise rooms and space for the workshops, which will be held on March 13th. The Institute for African Studies and International Development have already offered seminar rooms. We are also facing the challenge to provide accommodation for the participants of the demonstration, blockades and the alternative summit, which we would like to offer and distribute on our website bolognaburns.org. The academy of fine arts will install a sleeping room for womenlesbianstrans. Workshop and sleeping rooms are tried to be arranged barrier-free.

  Lunch and dinner meals for participants of the alternative summit will be provided by the VolxKüche ("peoples' kitchen" / soup kitchen), which will have its location in two heated tents on the campus. Breakfast will be served at the academy of fine arts.
  Together with the organisation unit, the Aula on the Campus will host the Café Transnational, where a table football set, sofas, a tea&coffee corner and an internet terminal create a cosy atmosphere for informal networking.

  The inDesign files are maninly serving to be able to translate the posters. If you have to translate a poster for your own purposes, it would be nice to share it with us, so that we can use it ourselves and pass it on to others!
